General Information


Interwrite Workspace is an integrated classroom training system designed for use in an interactive training environment. The system enhances instructor productivity by enabling instructors to focus their time on improving student learning and performance. Interwrite Workspace has built-in functionality, including:

The bluez packages can be installed using your specific Distribution's Package Manager.  For more information on Linux Bluetooth support, please see http://www.bluez.org/

After confirming that the required bluez packages are installed, please make sure that the rfcomm service is running.  See your distribution-specific documentation to determine how you can check this.

"sudo" must be installed to a location that is included in the system's default search path; otherwise it will not be found.  The default search path on most systems includes '/usr/bin', but you should refer to your system's documentation for more details.

This package adds support for running 32 bit applications within a 64 bit Operating System. Please see your specific distributions documentation for information on installing the "ia32-libs" package.

Installation Information


Installing the Interwrite Workspace software from the Interwrite Workspace CD

  1. Log into the system with an account that has administrative privileges.   Linux users should log in as "root" or use "sudo" when launching the installation.
  2. Insert the Interwrite Workspace CD. Double-click on the CD icon that appears on your desktop. Double click on the "Install Workspace" icon to launch the installation.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation of the Interwrite Workspace software.

  • Fixed data loss problem when reading GWB files created in previous versions

  • Fixed problems with annotate, insert images, eraser, and select text in GWB files created in all previous versions.

  • Fixed problems that were not allowing the Pan Page soft key to function properly

  • Fixed problem with the inability to erase annotations when more then five Mobi Pads are being used simultaneously.

  • Fixed a problem with the Workspace Galley so two images with the same name can be put into different folders without copying over each other.

  • Fixed problem automatically adjusting the resolution of GWB files created in previous version

  • Layer control tool bar now displays properly even after the Workspace window has been resized

  • Fixed a problem if a GWB file is created using Freeform capture on different pages in Windows, then the same file is opened in Workspace Java, the file corrupts

  • Fixed the problem of items duplicating in the Gallery

  • User is now able to access the Workspace application when path of the stamp tool is changed from Options tab of preferences.

  • Fixed a problem with navigating using the previous and next page buttons

  • Removed prompt to install Inkwell support from the installation process
