French Ministry of Education Sign an Agreement with Interwrite Learning™ to Provide Interactive Classroom Technology to IUFMs

Thirty-One Post-Graduate Teacher Training Institutes to Leverage Interwrite™ Boards, Pads, Software and Training to Enhance Education for Teachers

Denton, TX (June, 2008) — Interwrite Learning™, an eInstruction company, a leading provider of interactive instructional and assessment solutions for the education market, today announced that the French Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of the Higher Education and Research have chosen to integrate Interwrite's technology in all Instituts Universitaires de Formation des Maitres (IUFM) - post-graduate teacher training institutes.

To support IUFM's goal of increasing the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in classrooms throughout France, Interwrite will provide each program with an Interwrite Board, Pad and copy of Interwrite's digital classroom teaching program, Interwrite Workspace LE. In addition, a half-day of training will be included as part of the agreement.

Teachers all over the world use Interwrite Boards, Pads and accompanying software to inspire and better engage students, turning traditional classroom lessons into interactive experiences - revolutionizing how teachers communicate with their classes. Furthermore, Interwrite products provide intuitive and easy-to-use assessment tools so that teachers can evaluate learning in real time, and better adapt to the ever-changing student population.

"It is our goal to support the Ministries and the IUFM in their vision to standardize the use of technology in classrooms across the country," said Laurent Odic, Director of Education Europe for Interwrite Learning. "Access to Interwrite's user-friendly, instructional solutions will prepare teachers to better leverage these tools in their classrooms for the benefit of the children."

Training next generation teachers with this technology will be particularly important as more than half of the nation's teachers will retire in less than 10 years, according to a demographic study cited on the IUFM website.

In line with guidelines set by the Ministry, IUFMs are responsible for initial educator training, providing prospective teachers and counselors with the appropriate instruction and specific course load needed to fulfill their role as education professionals. More information on the IUFM can be found www.iufm.fr.

Interwrite Learning offers a wide range of interactive solutions with over 250,000 systems in use worldwide, providing enhanced education opportunities to millions of students in classrooms across 100 countries and in 48 languages - including 5,000 Interwrite Boards already in use throughout France.
