eInstruction launches the next generation in interactive whiteboards
New Interwrite DualBoard allows multiple users to simultaneously contribute to interactive whiteboard through revolutionary software
ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2009: FETC Booth # 821 Orange County Convention Center) - eInstruction™, a premier global provider of interactive learning solutions, today announces the launch of the Interwrite® DualBoard, the first operational dual pen interactive whiteboard to hit the market. The DualBoard allows two pens to be used at the same time on a single interactive whiteboard, creating the perfect solution for two students to work simultaneously at the front of the classroom.
The new Interwrite DualBoard has the same durable and easy-to-use features that made its predecessor, the Interwrite® Board, a favorite among educators worldwide, as well as the enhanced capability to recognize and interpret information from two interactive pens concurrently.
"The DualBoard will help make classrooms around the globe into more collaborative learning environments," said Steve Kaye, CEO of eInstruction. "Now, teachers can have two students at the whiteboard solving two different homework problems at the same time. Essentially, they are getting two Boards for the price of one."
Existing Interwrite Boards can be upgraded with this functionality. Interwrite Board users will be able to purchase an upgrade kit that replaces their current controller and provides the second pen for the dual pen functionality.
The DualBoard is accompanied and powered by Interwrite Workspace® 8.0, a revolutionary instruction and multi-user collaboration software package, that combines ease-of-use, multi-user input, CPS integration and publisher content compatibility to provide a superior collaborative instructional experience. Instructors can select from "sandbox" mode or "split screen" mode, providing multiple ways for the class to collaborate around digital lesson materials. Sandbox mode allows all students to work in the same area of the display while Split Screen mode allows the teacher to assign each student to a separate portion of the display area.
Since Workspace 8.0 is designed on an open architecture, virtually any third-party program or content source can be used as instructional material. And Workspace Gallery, a collection of thousands of digital resources covering all grades and subject areas, is also included.
Workspace 8.0 is compatible with eInstruction's entire product suite, including its CPS student response system, Interwrite Pad and Board, Learning Series assessment content, and the market leading ExamView® test generation software. About eInstruction™
eInstruction pioneered the first student response system for the education market during the 1980s. Its
Classroom Performance System (CPS) provides instructors and students with real-time feedback on comprehension
during instruction. Today CPS remains the leading student response system in education, being used by over 1.5
million students in more than 60,000 K-12 classrooms and over 400,000 students in more than 400 colleges and
universities. In 2006, eInstruction acquired FSCreations and integrated its ExamView® and Learning Series content
into CPS; so instructors can seamlessly use publisher and proprietary question banks in lesson plans, quizzes and
tests with eInstruction technology. The result is an integrated system for instruction and assessment with real-time
feedback. In 2008, eInstruction joined forces with Interwrite Learning®, another premier global provider of interactive
learning solutions to the primary, secondary and higher education markets. For media inquiries, please contact Christy
